New Release HT82K96E - USB Keyboard OTP MCU

With almost all modern mother boards now incorporating several USB interfaces, and when added to the fact that Windows ME and XP now has the convenience of automatic device driver installation, the proliferation of USB devices has become a present day trend resulting in USB devices fast  becoming the standard for future generation computer peripherals.

Holtek is no newcomer to the USB interface, and has over the years accumulated much design  experience in this area, in the process releasing several USB devices. Building on its past experience, Holtek is now pleased to announce the release of the HT82K96E USB Keyboard OTP MCU. At a time when the peripheral market is seeing a flourishing appearance of a range of stable USB products, Holtek has released a device with the special features to assist with rapid USB product design, providing a means for further business opportunities.

The main specification of the device is as follows:

  • 4KX15 ROM and 160 byte RAM

  • 32 bi-directional I/O

  • 8-bit/16-bit Timer/Event interrupt controller

  • Watchdog timer

  • HALT and Wake-up function

  • 8 Level stack

  • 6 Channel, 8 Bit A/D

  • 4 endpoints support (includes endpoint 0)

  • USB, PS/2 mode support

  • USB HID 1.1 class compatible

The special characteristics of the device are as follows:

  • Conforms to USB HID 1.1 specification compatible products

  • 32 I/O pins 4K'15 ROM SIZE, 160 byte RAM, providing ample memory space for USB product development

  • Can be used within Boot Device, Keyboard, and Mouse Products

  • Contains USB/PS2 interface auto detect function, suitable for USB/PS2 dual-interface products

  • Integrated 6 Channel 8 Bit A/D, suitable for Joystick and Game Pad related product development

  • Incorporates 4 USB Endpoints (Include endpoint 0), suitable for Keyboard, Mouse and Joystick

Supporting Development Tools and Programmers

To fully support the HT82K96E device, Holtek has developed a suite of HT-ICE Windows based development tools. With an easy to use Human interface, the fully functional HT-ICE and its corresponding device programmer provides the means for designers of USB related products to obtain the quickest design to market times.
